…well since I’m actually in my 40s

I don’t have much to say right now, so let’s table this discussion until you all are in your 40s ‘kay? Until then…

Seriously, though, a few thoughts…

I’m happy to be here in Fortysomehingville.

My most serious heartaches and loss occurred in my 30s and the 40s have been a rollercoaster of emotions and fuckery.

The 20s? I thought the 20s was some bullshit, even when I was in the midst of it.

Looking back, I don’t know how I survived that decade. I didn’t know shit and that should have gotten me killed to fucking death over and over like a video game death.

I didn’t listen to my elders enough during that time when I should have been taking notes every second that I could have. Should have gotten as much education as I could have (not that it would have done me all that much good in the here and now, that’s a different story for another time)

I spent way too much time in my 20s trying to get people to approve of me instead of getting to like me for myself. A whole lot of wasted time could have been put to better use had I realized that in my 20s.

I thought I was the good person and the rest of the world was corrupt. Looking back, I was just as shitty at times as I thought everyone else was and I cringe at some of the things I did. I learned from that, however. I would say “don’t make bad memories” but that’s just some stupid ass greeting card nonsense. You’re not perfect and don’t beat yourself up because of that.

If I knew that rap music would be so shitty, now, I would have appreciated it more back when I was in my 20s.

Beautiful heart and soul trumps a big butt and a smile, 10 times out of 10

But never underestimate the power of thigh high black stockings

Tell people you love them as much as you can in your 20s, there is a good chance that someone you should be telling that now, won’t be around to tell when you’re in your 40s

In your 20s, yeah, you look good and you can fuck for hours, but you don’t have to be a dick about it.

Communication, cultivate that shit in your 20s, you are going to need it where you’re headed. I hope you don’t think that you’re going to get by with your looks, forever LOL That ain’t cute…speaking of

That shit that you think is cute in your 20s, it’s old and tired if you’re still doing it in your 40s. Don’t be that lame ass fool! Evolve, motherfucker, evolve!

You’re not perfect, you will never be perfect. You will make mistakes, a lot of them. Take those mistakes and store them away, remember them because they will provide excellent warning signs when you start to fuck up again. Maybe they will help you from fucking up some more. Most wisdom has its origins in mistakes.

In your 20s, enjoy those things that you really discover for the first time, like when you KNOW that you’re right about something, absolutely right. Drink that up, that is one of life’s most fantastic natural highs! That perfect moment, when the music is just right, you’re relaxed to the max, that drink is just cold enough, it feels like a quiet stream flowing down your throat, The first time you realize how fantastic a good, soft titty feels in your mouth and, for you ladies, you got his dick in your hands and it’s throbbing, you have so much fucking control in that moment, girl, you just don’t know the half of it. Etc..etc…etc. Savor each chance you get like that, regardless of your age, but there’s something about the 20s, the age of awareness, that makes those moments, extra special. I envy you. Youth is wasted on the wrong people lol

Don’t even think about settling down until you’re 31.

When you turn 30, do a Victory Lap for a year, celebrating that fact that you made it out of the 20s alive.

That’s all i got for now, I’m sure I will have more.

Inner-city black America is often stereotyped as a place of random violence; in fact, violence in the inner city is regulated through an informal but well-known code of the street. How you dress, talk, and behave can have life-or-death consequences, with young people particularly at risk. The most powerful force counteracting this code and its reign of terror is the strong, loving, decent family, and we meet many heroic figures in the course of this narrative. Unfortunately, the culture of the street thrives and often defeats decency because it controls public spaces, so that individuals with higher, better aspirations are often entangled in the code and its self-destructive behaviors. Writing in the tradition of Jane Jacobs and William Julius Wilson, the author delineates the true workings of city streets. His most interesting characters are not the bullies and dealers, but the decent folks, young and old, who through entrepreneurship and creative self-help strategies are forging a viable alternative, an escape from the code of the street. Winner of the Komarovsky Book Award, this incisive book examines the code as a response to the lack of jobs that pay a living wage, to the stigma of race, to rampant drug use, to alienation and lack of hope. An individual’s safety and sense of worth are determined by the respect he commands in public—a deference frequently based on an implied threat of violence. Unfortunately, even those with higher aspirations can often become entangled in the code’s self-destructive behaviors.

The 16-year-old Jasmine Thar was shot and killed in the front yard of a Chadbourn home on December 23, 2012. The Killer James Blackwell, 23 year old White Man, who lived across the street, says his 700 Remington Rifle went off without pulling the trigger. Jasmine was in the car with her mother and the bullet actually hit both of them. Jasmine would die from the bullet wound. The investigation determined that the death was the product of an “accidental discharge”. When the investigators searched James Blackwell’s (The Killer) home they found Confederate flags and NAZI memorabilia. As of now they are saying James Blackwell WILL NOT be arrested.

It think ridiculous is an understatement for how disheartening these “Investigation conclusions” are. I will say this again stemming from my last post. THE RESPECT AND CARE FOR BLACK DEATH IS NON-EXISTENT. I used to scratch my head in frustration trying to figure out how much more obvious something needs to be for them to get that it was a Race Crime. Then realized that I was naive, they can see exactly what I see but their intention was to justify the crime not to punish the Criminal. How can you possibly expect her family to accept that she was killed by some guys rifle by accident? Is this a hunting area? This is so sad and such bullshit. White people kill blacks and know that the Police will give them “The benefit of the doubt”, Unwritten Rules: When you’re BLACK you’re GUILTY until PROVEN innocent, when you’re WHITE you’re INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. You never hear of black people “accidentally” killing white people. Why? Because Black people know the POLICE, The prosecution, and White folks won’t tolerate it. We can get Killed by Zimmerman’s or Blackwells and they courts will take the side of the killer because of Privilege. Furthermore these BLACK DEATHS ARE A CONTINUOUS PATTERN.

People desperately want to feel like RACISM doesn’t exist and is a thing of the past. Some people do not want to acknowledge racism. They ignore it and try to look at things from perspectives far from racism no matter if it’s right in their face. Lets get this clear ignoring racism and avoiding it in itself is RACIST. You are an enabler of Racism, just like someone who is aware of but quiet about another being raped, mistreated, ETC…Then people want to call you racist for pointing out some racist shit.

Black people have to stop being bamboozled by the “reports” and the media. Their agenda is always in favor of the agenda of the courts. Don’t allow their propaganda to desensitize you about something you Feel in your heart is Wrong. We cannot just pray about change ACTION is required. Blacks need to ORGANIZE and plan because this can happen to anyone of us at anytime.

I know “The Overseers” are going to come out and say “Well we kill each other everyday, why should we care about that?” Well that is true but does that justify Hate crimes by other races? Every race in the world “Kills each other everyday” This post is about the Death of Jasmine Char and the mistreatment of her case. If you can’t understand that it’s not for you or your type of person.

A lot of people are calling this dude a hero...

Lets be real…

A lot of people are calling this dude a hero and a great guy, today. Yesterday, the majority of these very same folks would have been calling him something else entirely.

But America loves their Negroes to be like Charles Ramsey…

They call him a “hero” (he helped, true, but the real hero was the young lady who, after years of going through God knows what, took the brave chance of getting herself and her other captors out of Hell…she’s the true hero). Okay, Ramsey’s a hero, too. A black man in a bad neighborhood, kicking in somebody’s door in broad daylight to save someone? He lucky somebody didn’t shoot him, so yeah, he’s a hero, I’ll give him that. Yet this isn’t why the internet is ablaze about this dude. Oh, yeah they will say that’s why they love him…fuck that, they’re justifying their merriment over his style. He gives that kind of interview that people love to laugh at and then go “hey how come all black men can’t be like him?”

Sigh.

Anyhoo…Enjoy those 15 minutes, Mr. Ramsey; pretty soon you will be on the pop culture trash heap like Mr. Pants On The Ground, Mr. The Rent Is Too Damn High and Right Said Fred.”

To paraphrase Ice Cube from True To The Game:

You’ll be all over cable TV but they don’t care
They’ll have a new nigga next year
You out in the cold
No more white fans and no more soul
And you might have a heart attack
When you find out the black folks don’t want you back
And you know what’s worse?
You was just like the nigga in the first verse
Stop selling out your race
And wipe that stupid-ass smile off your face
Niggas always gotta show they teeth
Now I’m a be brief
Be true to the game

Al Sharpton’s entrance into the 2004 Democratic presidential race is evidence of a decaying black political culture where ego trumps politics. It is the last gasp of a tradition that has been transformed over a generation from bold, effective and results-oriented politics to rhetoric and symbolism, argues crime writer and social commentator Norman Kelley. As Kelley shows, what Sharpton covets is the sobriquet—The Head Negro in Charge (HNIC), a symbolic political mobilization that replaces effective politics and organizing. “The HNIC syndrome has seen the rise of symbolic leaders—Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Sharpton and now Russell Simmons—who may be charismatic,” Kelley writes, “but are politically unaccountable to the very people they claim to represent, namely African Americans. The transformation has been underway since the 1970s, but most African Americans have yet to confront it.” HNIC syndrome is both a symptom and response to the failings of black political and cultural orthodoxy, of a sclerotic black elite represented by the NAACP and the Black Congressional Caucus, who have embedded themselves into the machinery of the Democratic Party and the conservative movement.

beautiful-ambition:

Check out my Twitter (@miss__october). I am still just a little too hype about my train of thought in terms of society pushing that fathers are necessary in order to breed effective girls (meaning ladies and not hoes) and boys but mothers are just….what?

This all started with a Black man on my TL saying that he wanted to stay in his daughters life so she wouldn’t turn out like “y’all”….I said who’s y’all and what do you mean. He proceeded to tell me that y’all is this generation of women and he wants to prevent his daughter from being ratchet, having babies young, and doing what guys would consider hoe activity. I tried to speak about fathers & mothers roles in both sexes lives, but he kinda dismissed the mother train of thought. He said fathers are important because fathers bring stability (a Black mans identity is linked to how he can financially support his family remember) and discipline… But most Black children are being raised in single mother homes so does that mean that Black women aren’t stable or disciplined? Does that mean that Black girls are having babies young, being ratchet, and participating in hoe activity because they do not have fathers or maybe it’s a systematic institution of keeping people in the “ghetto” undereducated and away from good healthcare and others means of supporting themselves? And if more boys had fathers, would they treat women better? Would they be fathers to their kids? Would they not be drug dealers and aspire to be more? Or are Black men just worried about their daughters not being strippers (Chris rock) and hoes? Is that why Jay isn’t callin women bitches anymore? Blue Ivy change his life? Is that why Nas is writing songs about how maybe he shoulda been in his daughters life more so she wouldn’t be instagraming condoms?

It seems like men think their presence is the end all be all. They forget that correlation doesn’t imply causation. Maybe the reason why Black girls are growing up fast is because of the media, because of their environment, and because statistically most Black girls have been sexually abused by Black men close to them and the stigma against mental health care in the Black community is so strong, they never seek help? Maybe there are other factors other than your manly presence as to why we are seeing the trends in young Black America that we are.

Not to mention the fact that it seems okay for men to teach girls how to be women (meaning how to “act right” and not be a “hoe) but heaven forbid a woman teach a boy how to be a man. I even had a guy, very sternly tell me, that if my son had questions about things like sex or “manly” shit, I was direct him to a man because that has nothing to do with me. But of course a man has everything to do with my daughter not having sex young, not having babies young, and basically only usin her sex when men deem it appropriate. I cannot deal with my son, but a man is supposed to deal with his daughter right? Because him being there makes the difference and me as a mother doesn’t matter because me staying in my children’s life isn’t extraordinary…but men want credit for being there for the children they make right?

I even had a dude YELL at me for me saying I would support my son being gay. He said if my son comes to me wanting to kiss another boy, I must send him to a man because as a woman I’m not equipped to deal with that situation I suppose. Because heaven forbid I allow my Black son to be gay. I’ve even had my future mothering skills concerning my daughter called into question. How dare I embrace my daughters right to be sexually free and encourage her to embrace her sexuality and feminine prowess. No wonder my future daughter will need a man in her life because I’m a hoe and imma make my daughter a hoe (because men just get so uncomfortable when a woman is sexually free). So, as a Black woman, I am incapable of raising either sex of child and thank goodness for my kids to have a father because how would I raise respectable, non-hoe, stably, disciplined children?

Fuck. Outta. Here.

Maybe Black men need to get up off they high horse and start treating Black woman as equals and RESPECTING us. But, as I was told on Twitter by a Black man, “double standards. It is what it is. It’s a mans world may not be right but it probably won’t ever change”

My god. Help us all.

*sigh*

these niggas lost so far in the sauce.

Hitler and his henchmen victimized an entire continent and exterminated millions in his quest for a co-called “Master Race.”

But the concept of a white, blond-haired, blue-eyed master Nordic race didn’t originate with Hitler. The idea was created in the United States, and cultivated in California, decades before Hitler came to power. California eugenicists played an important, although little known, role in the American eugenics movement’s campaign for ethnic cleansing.

“There is today one state,” wrote Hitler, “in which at least weak beginnings toward a better conception [of immigration] are noticeable. Of course, it is not our model German Republic, but the United States.”

We were never taught this in American History in school, were we?

Nor did we discuss Madison Grant, one of the leaders of “scientific racism”

or his race-based eugenics book, The Passing Of The Great Race (1916)

a book that Hitler said was “my Bible” and contained such commentary on topics such as the forced sterilization of the “worthless classes” in society and:

“Thus the view that the Negro slave was an unfortunate cousin of the white man, deeply tanned by the tropic sun and denied the blessings of Christianity and civilization, played no small part with the sentimentalists of the Civil War period and it has taken us fifty years to learn that speaking English, wearing good clothes and going to school and to church do not transform a Negro into a white man.” – pg. 16

“When it becomes thoroughly understood that the children of mixed marriages between contrasted races belong to the lower type, the importance of transmitting in unimpaired purity the blood inheritance of ages will be appreciated at its full value and to bring half breeds into the world will be regarded as a social and racial crime of the first magnitude. The laws against miscegenation must be greatly extended if the higher races are to be maintained.” pg. 60

Oh, yeah, it’s deep.

But don’t take my word for it, hit up Google and find out for yourselves.

i will say this, though

America has done an excellent job in keeping the lot of you ignorant as fuck

you have access to basically the biggest library on earth, at your fingertips; but you’d rather add captions to stupid photos and tell women how they should breathe/think/dress/exist, all day

you’ll believe everything they put in a book you have to read at school, because you paid $200 for it, and why on earth would they spread lies and propaganda at a prestigious university?!
while anyone making valid points with sources, examples, what have you, are foolish conspiracy theorists

dumb ass children tweeting that the boston bomber’s attractive; and i’ve watched his followers jump from the low 900s to 40,000, in a matter of several hours

and let’s not forgot that horrible, terrible phrase: “post-racial america”
if you’ve been paying attention to any media outlet this week (hell, since they killed Dorner—and even way before that), you’ll know that’s complete hogwash. CNN has been fumbling over themselves all fucking day because they’re still processing that both the suspects are white. TMZ irrelevantly tied hip hop to this situation, noting that one of the suspects was a “heavy hip hop fan,” because we all know Hov and Jeezy like to talk about nothing but making bombs with pressure cookers

at the rate we’re going, generations behind me will never know that slavery in america was a real thing; 60 million slaves turning over in their graves
they’re really going to believe columbus’ white ass sailed his way over here with blankets, and food, and politely asked the native americans to share the land

the bush administration was great for the country
black panthers were just a group of savages
reagan did us a favor placing crack in our communities because we searched for that shit for so long, to no avail

and the only contributions people of color have made to society is rap music, peanut butter, and twerking.

i’m losing hope in humanity by the day

I blame my generation for raising a lot of you ignorant motherfuckers. We did a horrible job
